We are looking for a web designer/digital marketing specialist to join our sales and marketing team in our headquarters in Frederick, MD. You will play a key role in reaching customers around the world who need our product. Your primary role will be to help us improve our web site and social media presence, but you will also have the opportunity to assist with many other areas of marketing.

  • Improve, update, and expand the content, appearance, and speed of the HighGear web site
  • Build high-quality HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for the HighGear website
  • Manage HighGear social media accounts
  • Optimize HighGear’s search engine rankings and PPC ads under the guidance of contracted and internal expertise
  • Travel to events and trade shows and help with our annual customer conference

Essential Qualities

  • Able to understand priorities, clarify as needed, and ensure top priorities get done even if lower priorities slip
  • Sets and achieves deadlines, takes responsibility to get things done both directly and through others
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (onsite ad-hoc creative writing test required)
  • Willing to ask for help when you need it
  • Able to type at least 50wpm without errors
  • Able to lift 50lb boxes to table height
  • Must be willing to work in the Frederick office full time
  • Must be a US citizen or permanent resident
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug test


  • 2+ years of professional marketing experience
  • Nice to have: Experience in outbound email marketing, SEO, PPC, and/or syndication
  • Nice to have: Experience marketing software products, especially B2B and SaaS
  • Marketing degree preferred but not required, relevant college or work experience will be considered
