Swift Software is pleased to announce the release of JobTraQ workflow software version X6.3.0. This new release is the result of substantial under-the-hood technology investments targeted at producing very noticeable performance improvements and significantly higher scalability. The results of this effort are consistently fast search times even under heavy user load. Searches in the task list are now faster for every user, whether they are the only user in the system or 1 out of 1000.

Performance and Scalability Improvements
JobTraQ X6.3 significantly improves the performance of the task list, maintaining consistently fast search times even under heavy user load. Searches in the task list are faster for every user, whether they are the only user in the system or 1 out of 1000.
We measured the improvement with tests that simulated a high number of users that search for and complete one task every 2.5 minutes. We tested 100 users on moderate server hardware and 1000 users on very powerful server hardware.
Our tests showed that 50% of all task list searches now finish in less than 1.9 seconds, 90% finished in less than 4.1 seconds, and 100% finished in less than 9.9 seconds.
The new algorithms also delivered an average search time of 2.3 seconds, which is a 35% improvement on the average search time over JobTraQ X6.2.1, under all types of load. This means that JobTraQ X6.3 will be faster for individual users on lightly-loaded servers as well as heavily loaded servers.
Updated System Requirements
JobTraQ X6.3 and beyond require Internet Explorer 8 or later
JobTraQ X6.3 no longer supports Internet Explorer 6 or 7. The following web browsers are supported:
- Internet Explorer 8 and later
- Firefox 24 and later
- Chrome 28 and later
- Safari 5 and later

Microsoft Operating System and Database Support Changes
Due to Microsoft’s upcoming termination of support, JobTraQ X6.3 is the last version to support Windows Server 2003 or Windows Server 2003 R2. JobTraQ X6.4 will require Windows Server 2008 or later.
JobTraQ X6.4 and beyond will require .NET 4.5.2
Previous versions of JobTraQ required Microsoft .NET 4.0. Microsoft’s recent updates offer improved performance and enhanced capabilities. To take advantage of these new improvement opportunities, JobTraQ X6.4 and beyond will require Microsoft .NET 4.5.2.
