The Role:
HighGear is adding a junior-level position to our Configuration Services team to help build the next generation of implementation talent as we grow. This role of Junior Configuration Specialist will work alongside an experienced colleague and our customers to gather requirements, design solutions, and implement them using HighGear. You will work directly with customers, support, and sales, learning to translate business needs into HighGear-powered solutions under the guidance of a senior team member.

Key Responsibilities
- Work with an experienced colleague and our customers to gather and refine requirements.
- Build estimates and write proposals.
- Design and implement complete solutions using HighGear.
- Test new solutions before and after they’re deployed to customers.
- Troubleshoot configuration problems.
- Partner with our support team to help resolve customer issues.
- Work with our sales team to help demonstrate HighGear’s value to prospects during the sales process.
What Success Looks Like (First 6–12 Months)
- Actively contribute to requirement-gathering and solution design on multiple customer projects alongside your mentor.
- Build enough proficiency in HighGear configuration to independently handle smaller projects with minimal oversight.
- Produce accurate estimates and well-written proposals that support signed statements of work.
- Develop strong troubleshooting instincts, resolving configuration issues with decreasing need for escalation.
- Earn the trust of customers and colleagues through consistent, professional communication.
Requirements
- 0–4 years of experience (or equivalent education) as a business analyst, software implementer, or consultant.
- Experience with requirement gathering, system design, system implementation, documentation, and report building.
- Able to work under pressure, while managing your own workload so high-pressure situations are rare.
- Able to focus and work effectively even with multiple projects in the queue.
- Sufficiently professional to interact with customers alongside an experienced colleague.
- Able to identify which details matter and ask the right questions, rather than simply doing the first thing a customer asks for.
- Able to design complete solutions, not just individual pieces.
- Must be willing to work in the Frederick office.
- Must be willing to travel as needed.
- Must be a US citizen or permanent resident.
Preferred
- Experience with business process modeling.
- Proposal writing experience.
- Project management experience.
- Customer support experience.
