
Vaughn serves as HighGear’s CEO and leads his team of Workflow Champions with honesty, integrity and an unwavering commitment to help customers streamline operations. His dedication to providing superior customer service and passion for technical excellence is a permanent part of HighGear’s DNA.
A seasoned entrepreneur, Vaughn has been working with enterprise technology for 30 years. In 1998, Vaughn founded Swift Systems, a regional systems integrator, managed services provider, and data center operator serving the Washington, D.C./Baltimore Metro as well as national and international clients.
Vaughn spun out his second startup, Swift Software, after an internal software development effort to streamline operations for his rapidly growing IT services business. This ultimately led to the creation of HighGear, an AI-enabled no-code workflow platform designed to empower everyday business users to develop scalable and easy-to-manage web-based workflow solutions that met enterprise-grade security, authentication and integration requirements.
Prior to all of this, Vaughn served in the United States Air Force during the Gulf War as a specialist in aerospace guidance and control systems. He was also an Honor Grad from the Air Force’s Electrical Engineering/Digital Electronics program.
Vaughn is an active supporter and volunteer for various community charities including serving as a mentor and teacher at a local favorite, The Frederick Rescue Mission. He also serves and has served on the board of directors or advisory boards for various local charitable interests and technology associations.
Vaughn has also authored several books, including his most recent, The Process of Improvement. For weekend fun and exercise, Vaughn also helps his family run a regenerative farm. He also enjoys spending time in the great outdoors hiking, hunting, and boating. Vaughn and his wife of 28 years, Elizabeth, also run a small farm that practices regenerative agriculture. He has 6 children ranging from 14 to 28, and two young grandchildren.
